There is a rather dark side to some of the correspondents reacting to my letter in The Times. It seems some people just want to draw attention to themselves and have nothing to contribute to the debate.

There are others it seems that wish to denigrate and deny the abuses suffered by young children in boarding schools.

And those that, despite the evidence for Boarding School Syndrome, are rabidly opposed to the concept and lack empathy. That is why abuses against children in boarding schools continue to this day.

Wearing my hat as a Founder and a Director of Boarding Concern, I have a letter published in Monday's The Times newspaper (and online) challenging the myths of a modern boarding education.

This is in response to a letter from a woman reader in Kent who claimed that modern boarding is wonderful and without fault. I beg to differ. This woman was reacting to a feature article on the emotional and spiritual downsides to a modern boarding education in the UK.
